European Health and Digital Executive Agency

The Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) addresses the European Commission’s ambition to help rebuild a post-COVID-19 Europe at its heart, which will be greener, more digital and more resilient.

Responsibilities

The European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) manages programmes that support EU priorities in health, food safety, digital, industry, and space. Over the 2021–2027 period, it is expected to oversee a budget of almost €20 billion under the multiannual financial framework. This includes funding from the EU4Health programme, Horizon Europe (notably in health, digital, industry, and space research), the Digital Europe Programme, the Connecting Europe Facility, and the Single Market Programme for food safety.

HaDEA also administered additional budget from the Next Generation EU fund supporting the health and digital strands of Horizon Europe. In addition to managing current programmes, the Agency has taken over financial commitments and ongoing projects from previous funding cycles.
